Bruh, I was was playing a normal 10 min game, it was my opponent’s turn and THEY DIDNT MOVE, then i was just waiting for THEM TO PLAY, and then I lost by abandonment, when I was THEIR TURN-

We all have internet problems so I feel ya.

Wait, is it internet?

You were not in the game so if that happens and the time limit is done then chess.com considers it abandonment

I’ve actually used to do that….😆😆🤣. I’d start up a 60 min game play two moves then head out on a Dutch run or class….when Id get back id read paragraphs of “are you there” comments then the normal “quitter” “ looser” comments im assuming, near the end of the game…people would literally be sitting there for an hour staring at a chess game on a computer screen…
In my defense…I was training my opponents…they had tons of time to analyze…strategize…and absorb all the awesomeness of chess….i didn’t even interrupt….😆😆🤣🤣😂.
True story…that’s no sh*t..

That's just stupid. You find it funny but if it was you on the receiving end you would know how much it hurts.

Once I made the mistake of booting up a 5-hour game at 9:00 PM a few years ago, and I got paired against a 2200 (Back then my strength was about 1450-1500). I was losing, but then made a comeback, and my opponents next move was forced, and then I would checkmate him in one move. But, he had 4 hours left, and he was stalling, and it was 10 PM, and I was sleepy, so I told my dad to look out if he made a move and I slept around 11 PM. My dad slept around 1 AM and when I woke up, I lost on time, and he had about 30 seconds left. Back then it would've been my highest rated win ever. It isn't funny.

And you're not making them analyze or strategize... its the 2nd move!! It's just prep not deep thinking!! Your "defense" is stupid lol, that's just trolling and the fact you find it funny backs that up.

Idk why this post angers me so much but it does heh

It angers me too he's probably just trying to make an excise for wasting his opponents time

That's an internet issue it will show they haven't made their move because you have very high lag and the move didmt register for you
