Your rating didn't go down...maybe you're looking at your 960 rating and mistaking it for your standard rating?

Nope, it'll stay the same.
The rating system this site uses is really stupid. I entered a thematic tournament to improve my skill in a particular line and was matched up with a low rated player. That player was intimidated, apparently, by my rating so he quit without making a move so I won and because his rating was so much lower than mine I lost more than 100 rating points. How does that figure?
