Tactic trainer gives easy problems with only 5 seconds to solved. I get 1 point for solving them. Ba

Last problem i solved in 5 seconds got 1 point because the target time was 2 seconds...

Target Time is only to get a 100% score. If you are only getting 1 point it is for taking significantly longer than the average time or the tactic's rating is a lot lower than your current rating. In the latter case, the problem isn't worth as many points and taking much longer than the target may only provide 1.

But i never gets 2600 problems anymore. So im just forced not to think and guess on easy problems. Instead of getting better.

Sokrates1984

Its not the average time. I set your target time after your rating in comparision of problem rating. So no it doesnt.

I had target times of 2, 3, and 5 seconds today on problems where there wasn't a mate in one.  Such a thing encourages "hope chess" - you see a good move and hope your opponent doesn't have a better one without checking for it.  That's not good - sometimes I feel pressured to make a move before I've completely checked out the position but I generally settle for 1 point, knowing I'm doing the right thing if I don't alter my thought processing for the worse.

Nevertheless, if we're getting a return to the old system even with all it's faults, that's a big improvement over what we've seen in the past two weeks.  I missed a solution for the first time in over a week and my rating only went up about 8 points today.

I agree. And you dont get the deep, your next level puzzles. Where you really have to think anymore.

Poor Sokrates, stuck with only a 2473 tactics rating. I imagine that you are one of the people who is driving the ridiculous target and average times.

Sokrates, the last problem you played had a target time of 6 seconds for you.  It also had an average time of 57 seconds. You took 2 minutes and 25 seconds to solve it.

You only got 1 point.

Baaaa.

I have a rating around 2300 and have this problem too.

What you should do is to quickly look the whole board so you can make it within a few seconds.

This shows your last 25 problems. Only 6/25 had target times below 10 seconds.

And you have a very high 2473 rating, so one would expect you to have lower target times than just about anybody.

I don't see you making your guesses in only seconds. I see you generally taking your time.

As a result, your rating didn't change much in the last 25 problems.

What's wrong with that?

Yes, there are few problems rated above 2600.  That is because there are so few people with ratings at the 2800 level you achieved in April.

That situation wasn't good either, was it?

Almost a half of my tactics are like that.

The problem is that I dont get the 2600-2700 i use to. And which i learnt a lot from.

You can sort the problems by rating and do only the high rated ones.

There are 117 pages of problems with ratings above 2600. That's about 2925 problems for you.

Here is the link to page 117.

They would be unrated but if you just want high rated problems, you will have your fill.

Sokrates1984

Thats correct. But I have to pick a problem manually each time. Which is kind of annoying.

Martin_Stahl

Set the trainer to Custom Training (Unrated) mode and set the rating range you want puzzles from. That way you don't have to manually select anything.

Sokrates1984

Cool. :-)

That has happened to me as well when the tactics got updated (was getting many 2200-2400 problems), but it seems that the puzzles I have been getting recently are between 2300-2800 which I think is a good range for my rating.

So in other words, there are really no problems that require just 2 seconds to solve. Maybe there are in the 3100 level. They are in the realm of the machines.

The problems that require just 2 seconds are in the 1800 level.
