Tactics and real games!

I've definitely executed tactics during gameplay that I might not've seen without having done so many puzzles. Usually a continuation or pattern that I'd seen on TT or elsewhere.

Hence the term "pattern recognition." After drilling tactics so much, you can't help but notice tactical shots in your games - even if it's just possibilities that you're analyzing in your head. Rarely will you see the exact tactics/positions that you see in your drills, but you'll often come across those same patterns.

I've had "windmill" arise in a few blitz games. There have been a lot of tactics appearing, of course, but windmill has always made me feel particularly good for some reason.

Yes. I recently checkmated a guy with a Swallow's Tail mate. There are other tactics that I'm more aware of because of TT that, when developing pieces in the opening or try to make a plan for the middle game that I see as possibilities for me to exploit or possibilities for my opponent that I need to avoid.

That video series you mentioned the other day by Daniel Rensch has also helped me to see patterns and unique mates.
