Tactics trainer

I am looking for an app that trains me the names of the different tactics. Something like:

Position

Choose:
A) mate in 2
B) pin
C) deflection
D) decoy

Anyone?

Chess.com learning mode for puzzles is exactly that

AtaChess68
Could be that i am missing something but I think it is not. In the learning section of the puzzles here I have to solve the problem, but is don’t have to name the problem.

I just tried one and I could easily solve the puzzle but I don’t know what tactic I used.

It sounds weird but I have been playing chess for 40 years without knowing the concept of tactics. Now I want to be able to give proper names to them.

So I am looking for an app where a position is shown and I have to guess the name of the tactic.

Why would you want to do that?

AtaChess68
I want to own the 38 tactics. First thing to do is to learn their names...

there is the Magnus training app which does exactly that and a bit more, i really recommend it

I found 2 Magnus apps
- a greenish one called Magnus Trainer
- an orange/blue one called Magnus (in the app I see it is Chess King)

The first one seems to be a course and the second a puzzle provider. But I can’t find what Iam looking for. Is there a third?

Magnus trainer teaches the name of the tactics. In some puzzle modes, to even unlock the puzzle you first have to name the tactic (pin or skewer for example)! That seems perfect for what you want.

That is indeed what I am looking for. Thx ppl!

Alternatives welcome (Magnus hasn’t convinced me yet).
