Yeah...I guess it looks OK.
Tactics Trainer and Tags
I must disagree with you blind maiden and allow me to explain why. I am sure that you have heard of the tactical motiff "Removal of the Defender". This is a good example of a basic tactical motiff. Are you suggesting that a beginner in chess would be able to spot this motiff during a game. Or do you think think this same beginner would have a better chance spotting this motiff if he/she had learned the mechanics of the "Removal of the Defender"?
Speaking for myself I know that I had never spotting a skewer or a pin in any game I had ever played before I learned what a pin and a skewer was.
This is the whole point of this thread Blind Faith, the importance of learning the basic motiffs in order to be able to advance to more difficult tactics since even the most difficult tactics are made up from the basic motiffs.
Well yes that is the way it works among our furry friends in the forest but it is not the way it works with human beings. Because nature granted human beings with the gift of speech this enabled humans to develop a very unique way of communicating with each other. Humans were able to slowly invent language and this has always been the way human beings best learn. It doesn't make sense to say that Matilda Wigglebottom would not benefit more by giving...ah what's the use?
I find our forums to be both entertaining and educational so I always make the attempt to stay current with the tide. While taking a morning's stroll through our forums yesterday I came upon a post that quickly caught my eye. This post addressed the subject of tags and the reason why Chess.com attaches each tactic with it's own tag(s). I did notice that tags always accompanied every tactic but I didn't realize there was a specific reason for doing so. I thought the main reason each tactic had a tag was just for show but that wasn't it. It turned out that each tag has a purpose and the purpose of a tag is to help the tactics trainer operator's brain burn the images of tactical motifs into it's brain. The main point of the post was to explain the importance of reading what kind of motifff you just solved because without training your brain to learn how to recognize these basic motiffs your brain will not have acquired the necessary tools needed to advance your tactical knowledge.
Well then, that's that Cheers! 🌹
