I think it's not all about how many, but how deep you can analyze a given position. It's better to work on 1 only problem for an hour if that implies deep thinking and calculations than to solve 20 "mate in one" problems that don't force you to leave your mental comfort zone.

guys my playing strength is around (1200-1400)in fide I wish to improve my game by tactics training so I purchased five books "MATE IN TWO,THREE,FOUR,PAWN PROMOTION,SURPRISE MOVE" Each book has 200 problems and now the question is I have decided to devote 1hour time every day for chess and how should I use these books how much puzzles should I solve a day and many times I find difficult to solve puzzle so what should I do in that case please suggest me a plan to improve my chess........
