There are playing sites that allow this. Personally, I'd think that it would be better to teach beginners in "real time" games at a site like FICS (freechess.org), which does allow takebacks.

i have noticed a few friends that are beginners, and when i try to help them by playing a game, they blunder and the game is ruined as a teaching tool.
it would be handy if there was a "allow move back" button one could push to let the n00b try to find the right move again.
is there a way to do this?
