Anand would have lost 3:2 this time.

He didn't WIN the candidates, but he came awfully close.

When is the next Candidates? 2018?

It would be great if Anand can (and wishes to) stay in shape chess-wise until that date, and go for THAT cycle.

Then again, it's just the egoistical wish of a chess fan who likes this player and his games. Nothing wrong with letting it go after so many years...

Nope he would have lost 4:0.

I am a fan of Anand, but will not go for a defense on his behalf. You have your almost baseless opinion, you surely haven't analysed all of his games this year, evaluated his performance and form, figured out in which of the stages Carlsen might have had an upper hand and how likely is it for Vishy to fall for those, that is a bit too much for a 1550 player. You somehow have a rough feeling about Anand, and felt that he is somehow playing too bad after watching some analysis videos; and thought that you have actually figured out how many games he would lose had he played Carlsen. And that is okay. It happens. Sometimes we think that some stuff is too easy when it really isn't.

But this is how I, and I think almost everyone who have some respect for Anand, feels about this. You are here to express your happiness, okay, but when you throw off some empty negative opinions on a great player in this process; you are going to get baseless defences and attacks on yourself, too. And this is completely fair. At the end of the day, opinions of players like you and me on the match score of a WC match, on whether a great player would lose to another great player; do not matter. So, maybe a bit of modesty would help.

You are a fan of Anand but will not go for a defense on his behalf? Do you get to meet a lot of people? What makes you think I have it? Interesting gossip. Saying that " felt that he is somehow playing too bad after watching some analysis videos" is such anonsensical position that I refuse to waste my time on it. What makes you think I have it? Have you ever heard if it being the case? okay happens? I think stuff is a lot of things. And how you and you think almost everyone who have some respect for Anand feels about this is t this. I will tell my dad that you said I am here to express my happiness okay but when me throw off some empty negative opinions on a great player in this process. Barring any unforseen circumstances. Where can I get baseless defences and attacks on myself? You don't say. The end of the day opinions of players like me and you on the match score of a WC match on whether a great player would lose to another great player is where it's at. Ok I'll try not to do it too much. How much?

I mean, you know who I was talking to, right?

“Vishy Anand simply outclassed Sergey Karjakin! Karjakin is not in the same league as Anand.” These are the words of Garry Kasparov who describes Anand's win in Rd 11 with the words, "Hats off!" and recognizing that he "beat a very strong player 20 years ago!" Let's ponder a bit on those words.

I think Anand's popularity is evident from the fact that besides the huge fan base he has got at 46, there is also a lot of chess followers only dedicated at hating him for no apparent reason. However, haters may not like this but this guy is not going to go down without a fight.

Thats the most pathetic crap I have ever heard from Kasparov.

Mediocrity sees nothing higher than itself, but talent instantly recognises a genius.

Not my words, by the way. Keep up the larger than thou attitude, it is entertaining for many of us.

Anand didn't win, Kajrakin did. So, Kajrakin deserves to play Carlsen, Anand currently doesn't and that's the end of the story. But there are few people who go a little further than that, they go on to insult a close competitor about whom they know nothing about, except that they have some kind of rough feeling about them, and think they have figured out everything, although they clearly know nothing.

@Patzerflood Anand is garbage and should retire. No more anand. Anand should go spend time with his family andd not chess. Patzernand Is nakamuras punching bag and should return to his bum country.

Well, it's okay that you have your opinion but I do not think that either Anand or any serious person would give a damn about what opinion you have about anybody. So, cheers, patzerfreak.
