THE EXCHANGE KID

Holy goated opening. Ts will single handedly get me to titled, it’s actually so op

My OTB performance rating over 6 games with it is 2300

KID players have no idea how to play against it, I can’t believe more people don’t play this as white lol

I love playing around with KIDs.

What do you think about the King's Gambit @chessblackbelt? Have you ever played it OTB to see if it is as efficient as it is online?

I’ve played against it as black. I got a really easy position against it against a stronger opponent

Just play the falkbeer and life is simple against the KG

The one you've studied the most.

The one you are practicing today or "these days"

Also I know it says it’s a countergambit but I don’t really understand why. I’m never down a pawn when I play it lol

Idk I think it’s just a goated opening honestly. I think people avoid it because they think it’s drawish but it’s really not. It’s dangerous af

The Fischer Defense is also a great option. I have to say that, although I know it's a little bit unsound opening, the king's gambit has been a quite strong option for me at my rating level. I don't know if you're a tactical player, but you should give it a try (online at least)

Oh I'm a d4 player, I'll never play the kings gambit anyway lol. Plus I don't really like playing unsound openings I'd get yelled at

I play 1. e5 so I'm familiar with the kings gambit. Anytime I see it OTB it's always rejected. Falkbeer countergambit is more common than KGA for sure

Ok gimme a minute. Youtube to the rescue

Imo whenever you play the exchange KID it's straight up just a 2 result game

I can't say that about any other opening

Kings Indian. Bobby Fischer and Garry Kasporav both played it

And I'd beat both of them in the exchange variation 😤

Seems like an alternative name could be "gunslinger". This guy I'm watching says white wants to get the queens off the board and avoid theory. 😭😂

really?

Avatar of Etymologist35

Black keeps getting a rook on 2nd rank. It's pretty tough to beat CBB.

Kasparov can still play lol

Idk you’ve got a dangerous passed pawn. You’ve got an octopus knight on d6 in a lot of lines and you’ve nearly always got control of the c file

It’s a legit good try for an advantage, not just smth to avoid theory lol

Avatar of chesssblackbelt

and if you avoid mainline theory with 9. c6 then it’s even easier
