Pro tip for gaining rating points: DON'T play a blitz match against someone who's 200 points lower than you and blitz, but over 200 points higher in rapid. (He's probably underrated) DON'T play dumb openings against him for kicks, and fun, crazy games. You will lose 40-50 rating points, and silly games like this will ensue:

That's all folks, and use this pro tip to gain at least 50 rating points today!

Yes, they're so annoying. Unless I am the underdog then it's fun to spoil a poor 1900s day.

Fair. I don't change the settings, instead, I treat it as a case-by-case scenario though. I did challenge him so.....nervous

I don't know. They don't sound too tasty.

BTW, I got an approving note from my opponent, so I'm never playing him again.

note to self: if you don’t wanna lose rating, don’t play against people who are better than you

Devour the still-beating heart of your defeated enemies, to steal their strength.

... it worked for me.

I would suggest farming lower rated players. The strategy you described is more for retaining rating points than gaining, I believe.

As for post #12... well, I suppose that would work. I mean, you would almost certainly get thrown into prison or something at best, but it would increase your rating.

Good to know that we have an expert talki... Wait you did WHAT!

I-i don't know what to say, I had a blind spot for it, and it's keeping me up at knight. I know now that Re7 is always the first move that should come to mind.

alphaous

Now to play Re7 in a position where it hangs a queen.
