Is that why you never bothered to insert an interesting name here?

Nimzowitsch

I think he lost more than 8. The 16 point range is only for Blitz and Bullet.

I'm pretty sure it's for all time controls.

alphaous

Although hyperbullet has like a 3-5 point range, lol.

More like 0-1

No, it's 1-0-1 usually, and sometimes more, totaling to a 2-point range, and sometimes more, which is why I gave that estimate.

Oh I was talking about how much you increase/decrease if you are talking about that then that would make sense.

Yeah, he said 16-point range for blitz-bullet so I was just going off of what he said.

Funny. I played a hyperbullet game to test this out, and the ratio was 1-7-15.

Here's another (more serious) tip: Breaks are your enemy. I hadn't played much AT ALL recently and have played some horrible chess today. You can check my game history for some blunder-fests. I did manage to not lose a massive amount of points, but always be careful coming off a break.

bruh sounds complicated

It really isn't. Just work your way up and be careful after a break.

Big tip. Don't play in the Arenas.

I wouldn't say that. While Arenas are unpredictable, I have made major upsets in  Arenas, and a good Arena can skyrocket your rating.

When you're not consistently facing higher people in arenas you start losing more and more rating from them.

Yes, you have to face higher rated players to do well in Arenas.

Yep, GMs are officially busted.

no arenas are literally hell for rating stay as far away from them as you can

Not if you're lower rated. And even if you're averagely (it's a word now, even if it wasn't one) rated, you can still gain plenty of rating points from them, they're just unpredictable.
