No, we don't need a bishop that is a (2,2) leaper - this miserably weak piece could visit only eight squares on the whole board and would be woefully underpowered in the modern game.
The bishop could be replaced by the Union rep.
You know, I think the game is just fine the way it is. Why are there always people who post here insisting that the rules need to be changed? Especially when if you're bored with regular chess, there are hundreds of variants out there. I'd like to learn to play normal chess well before we change the rules.
