A draw .

Sort:

I accidentally offered a draw against someone and now I want to remove the draw offer.
How do I do this?

🤔

I don't know how to do this either. I think the draw offer remains until your next turn. This problem has existed for a while.

DF8-sep

Yeah I thought that too

You can't cancel your draw offer. Only your opponent's answer will close the offer either by an effective draw or with the next move of your opponent.

Remove a draw offer would be ridiculous. A way to troll ur opponent in key times.

I think Ellias means in a daily game. I think chess.com should allow it for daily games. There is no real time pressure in daily.

coro

yeah I agree

Dianaluvsmusic

just give cancel and continue the play!

Chris_E_S3

How do you cancel? I don't see a cancel 'button'

It's a chess rule. Once a draw offer is made it can't be withdrawn.

Hi Martin, I was hoping you would join this. So, twenty moves later, the person offered the draw can claim it?

No. If the opponent makes a move, the draw offer goes away.

as i know you might cancel it while playing through the pc web page, but it's not possible on the phone

uncleex

maybe i just remember the wrong thing

Draw offers are only valid on that move. If another offer is made 20 moves later, that one can be accepted then

CanuckistanPlayer62
why not just call up your opponent on the phone and ask him if he’d be nice enough to decline your draw offer?

Once ive offered a draw and my opponent waited seven minutes and after the seven minutes, he accepted.
