While you guys and singing and dancing, I´ḿ trying to figure out why this thread died such a sad death. The official reason- that we were starting to talk about politics- just doesn´t make sense.
I think the real reason is just what I feared: the thread was suffering from a leadership vacuum!
I´d nominated someone to be the Conscience of the Thread. The nomination was even seconded. But the nominee refused to even consider responding to the offer! I should have guessed at this point that the writing was on the wall!
And someone else was nominated to be Thread Dietician. And she would only do it if she were paid!!
But the thread had no budget!! Should I have had a Kickstarter going??
Another person I wanted to nominate to be the Thread DJ...for his impeccable taste in music, but he would only consider being nominated as the Thread Exorcist. I could never seriously consider him for that post because proper exorcisms are conducted with at least teams of five. Clearly, he was/is an amateur. #sad
Clearly, I am an amateur, too, seeing how quickly my thread came to a demise...

Like I said, the death of that Thread that Mattered had nothing to do with politics but because of a leadership vacuum at the highest levels of power within said thread...

Was I disrespectful to her??? All I suggested is that she and I collaborate in creating our own alternative chess website called abusechess.
It´s true there has been no activity all these years, but something got into me...I have just been missing the days when I would be called all manner of things...
