It is great. I used to play chess when I was in school, during lunch period and after school. I once in a great while would find someone to play with, but it was hard to find someone. Then about a year ago, my wife said you like chess why don't you try the internet? I found www.chess.com and it is great. Now no looking for someone.
The Internet has been great for chess and chess fanatics. I believe that this is a great era for people who love chess. No matter what time or what day of the week, there is always somebody out there wanting to play chess with you via the Internet. Every mayor chess tournament is being broadcast and there is plenty of chess websites with great articles and news about chess. I can't imagine what chess fanatics did before the Internet, especially down here in South America were chess is not so popular. My father, who is almost 70, used to play chess with the same 4 friends once a week. That means that he probably plaid 8 to 12 games a week. I have played over 12 games today and it is only lunch time.
