The Invisible Hands and Fake Points on Bullet

If you look at the ratings of bullet's player from 1500-2000, you must know that most of them are fake ratings. Their real points maybe average 1300-1700.

The players who depend on their internet connection only have collected the fake points. The real points are owned by their internet connection. Those aren't their points.

Their internet connection is the actual player but not themselves. I called this penomenon as The Invisible Hand that boost their fake points.

Do you have an experience about it?

Not sure I know what you mean, but a guy at work was boasting of his 2100 rating at 1 minute games, then I saw him playing with a touch screen app, using both hands to move pieces instantaneously while most people are noodling around with a mouse. He had a huge advantage and won most of his games on time even when seriously behind in material and position.

Is that what you're talking about?

It's not about players who move their pieces quickly by premove or support device. I'm talking about the player had a huge advantage and won most of his games on time even when seriously behind in material and position because he has a better connection than his opponent. His opponent actually stronger than him but the opponent suffer a severe lag.

After he won the game then decline a rematch and run directly.

The only thing in chess worse than a player who complains about people winning on time in a bullet match is someone who does it repeatedly, over dozens of threads.

Play longer games and stop crying.

I have played longer games, included some blitz games and (excuse me) my rating looks better than yours. I can make over dozens of threads because I have modals (nice games) to be posted. How about you?

Scottrf has a higher standard rating than you. I don't consider blitz and  bullet real chess.

Stop complaining, go out and play some real chess.

Haha..check out them carefully. Btw, I don't consider online chess (longer time control) contribute a real rating because lot of players use an engine. I just believe their ability when they play lightning (1.0). How about your bullet points?

You have no game record here so your statement is NOTHING !

A real rating is what you get for playing real OTB games. I get my bullet points at the firing range. Stop your trolling.

So their real ability is when they play lightning? Except if they are higher rated than you of course, then it just means they are a 'time player' (as if that's an insult in bullet chess). Convenient.

I know a guy who's 1600 rated in bullet. But, that's a fake rating. His real strength is something like, I dunno, 1600.

Are you trying to say that its almost impossible to have a "real" (whatever that means) bullet rating in the range 1700-2000?

Btw, ratings aren't a measure of skill (common misconception) it's a measure of RESULTS only, so your argument that their skill doesn't merit their rating doesn't even match the definition.

How to deduce false ! Laughing
You have to understand what it meant at the beginning of this thread.

May I play devil's advocate?

If most bullet players depend on a fast connection, then most bullet players will face other players with fast connections, mostly cancelling the effect out and dispelling the idea that most players ratings are affected by the invisible hand.

No?

Thats funny because all the best GM's in the game today play blitz/bullet including Magnus Carlsen. Just because your not good at speed chess, doesnt mean you can slander it saying it makes your gameplay worse.

Ronald, you've been asked dozens of times but have never answered:

If you believe that your Bullet rating is too low because of your connection, why don't you play longer games? That's what I do; my connection is catastrophic, so I play nothing under 10|0.

I'm sure there would be many people interested in your demonstrations of endgame/middlegame mastery when you're playing with time to think.

Best regards, bouncing

Logic is not needed in that thread.
