The Life and Times of Lenny_Bongcloud - and ratings!!

Sort:
Ned63

Lenny is a unique individual.

His current rating is 444, and looking at his past games, it's not hard to see why.  He has a couple of active game seeks, but they are restricted to sub 650's.

Now, if I could play Lenny, win or lose, wouldn't that haul him up the ratings ladder?

Ray_Brooks
Not quite Ned, if you were to win, his rating would decline still further! It matters not one iota who you lose to, a loss is a loss, and this is reflected in a drop in rating. Nice sentiment though! Smile
Ned63

Thats a damn shame! But I am prepared to throw the game to bring him to a wider audience, but without resigning.

It's a tough one

Rael
I'm sure he's committed to becoming the lowest rated player on the site. I'm going to go check now, "dued". Haha.
RedSoxpawn
good point the only way for him to win would be to throw a game, and I might throw the next game I ever play against him if he keeps acting like an idiot
Rael

He's currently one from the bottom (the lowest has 435). We should grant him some kind of reverse title, like TM for terrible master or something. Give him an actual icon for all of his hard work.

Or maybe name his whole "Move my King on the 2nd turn" opening. The Bongcloud opening?

RedSoxpawn
how about a "Trying to be stupid" title
Ned63

That occured to me too.  The BongCloud gambit.

E2-E4 - any move

K - E2

It's not a sure fire winner, but some of his opponents have struggled against it.  Is it a bit like fisherchess i.e. normal chess on weed?

Ned63
You know what, I'm gonna challenge him and lose without resigning
RedSoxpawn

It's like playng chess against some of the kids at school maybe we should take this to the "Should Chess Be Drug Tested" forum.Laughing

Check out one of Lenny's two wins:

Now that really takes some explanation..... answers on a postcard to Ray_Brooks c/o chess.com. Winner gets a game with Lenny! Laughing

Haha such a funny topic. I have to say, I do enjoy when people create these "characters" on the site, livens it up - like HieMuffinMan too. I, for one, would like Mr. Bongcloud to post in this thread.

I'm going to have a look at the games Ray just linked now... too funny...

Loomis
I most like the game against timmaylivinalie where Lenny is doing his best to lose as quickly as possible but timmay just ignores him. Timmay develops all his pieces, controls the center and doesn't care one bit that his opponent his walking around the open board with his king. Frustrated that timmay refuses to go after his king -- or even take his queen when offered -- Lenny simply resigns at move 13.
RedSoxpawn

Man that makes me fell like I should but my game against him up there

Ned63

Back off Ray!

I have corresponded with Lenny already and have some insight into the mans mind.

How many point am I going to ditch here by deliberately losing?  Who cares eh?

RedSoxpawn
So you mean you have been smoking with himLaughingLaughing

I will say that Lenny Bongcloud is one of the most fearsome opponents I've yet to face.  However, I was able to prevail:

Incorrect... another Lenny loss, as Loomis points out.

Yeah,

but only after 36 moves!!  Were you trying to win?  Was there any dialogue?  What was it like?
