By the way if you want, please post your ideas on how to improve the chess matrix.
The Matrix--Rewritten for chess

Hmm...Interesting. :O Where the king could move pieces out of his way if they were two spaces from him. :D >.> I am trying to come up with something woth typing. xD

Omega Chess has Champions on the board who are minor pieces who attack lots of the squares close to them, so enemies who get too close must face an intimidating slugfest. Then there's Wizards who move in a spooky ghostlike fashion, like tricky long-range ninja knights who aren't very intimidating up close--hence "wizards."
And there's an optional Fool piece with all kinds of variations on its powers, like it can mimmick the powers of the last enemy piece that moved, meaning you can never get the drop on a fool using an unprotected piece. Or it can Disable an enemy piece on an adjacent square. If you wanted to end that piece's paralysis, you'd have to maneuver your own fool so that it's also in contact with the piece being disabled by the opponent's fool. Etc.
Then other chess variants combine Rook-and-knight, bishop-and-knight, or (look out!) queen-and-knight. So those pieces could make you feel like you had a matrix-style fighter at your command, zipping around the opponent's army like a bumblebee shark. Or whatever.
I've played around with the idea of vampire chess, with teleporting pieces like when dracula just appears out of the mist, or putting an enemy piece under your thrall. Or stronger kings, who have a limited selection of special moves (magical powers) they can use only once, etc. Dark rituals in which your king sacrifices several pawns in order to resurrect a bishop back onto the board. And so on. http://blog.chess.com/ILLYRIA/new-hawaiian-vampire-chess-improved-kings-gothic-omega
This is a message for all of you Matrix fans out there:
I am sure you loved the intense Matrix trilogy.
I am also sure you are in love with chess.
So why not combine them???
What if in chess, rooks could climb over pawns, or bishops could move around the board? What if a third dimension was added to chess? five hundred, twelve cubes, eight by eight by eight. What if you could castle to the center of the board? What if the pawns could randomly grow in size til' they covered four squares instead of one? A chess universe where pieces could be bent in any way or form.
Think about that and get back to me.
