The new Adds

I don't know if everyone get the same adds, or if they are regionalised, but I'm assuming they are. Am I the only Swedish, who's disturbed by the new "Räkna ut din livslängd" adds?

It might just be my computer, but those adds make this site extremely slow, and ruins the site for me, for example I can't hardly go back and forth in different moves whenever I get that add, and you can only dream about getting the analyze board up. THe same goes for the forum, or articles etc.

Am I the only one getting these problems?

The ads are only shown if you are not paying for a membership. It amazes me that people always expect something for nothing. This is a wonderful site for playing chess. IT"S FREE if you want it that way. But with the free you have to accept that you will get ads. If you really really like this site, pay for a low membership. I did. I am on a limited budget but I felt the yearly membership for just under $30 was well worth it. C'mon, it comes out to only $2.49 a month! That comes out to 9 cents a day! These people have created an incredible site. If you don't want to pay them this, then don't complain about ads when they are giving you something for FREE!

Painterroy, I completely agree with your post, as I have said in several other threads.

However, in this case it is clear that this new advert is completely obstructive to Tricklev being able to use the chess.com site. This seems to suggest that it should be considered for removal, as an advert is no good if it gets to a point where free players are being driven away from the site.

Besides, if Tricklev can't use the forums, how will he possibly be able to access my Hurt/Heal game? Wink

can you please use the REPORT AD link for that ad? we'll then take a look. but it's hard for us to get specific ads - they are part of large networks and it's sometimes impossible for us to block them :(

If I had 30$ to spend, I would have done so long ago, I like this site alot, but with the internation economical crisis, I'm in some financial problems myself, otherwhise I'd be a paying member long ago.

With that out of the way, this was merely a question, I have nothing against adds, and I realise that aslong as I'm not paying, I should have to endour them, I haven't got anything against most of them, not even the pop-ups, these adds however, has suddenly made this site un-usable, and if there's no way to get around this, without putting out money I haven't got atm. I'm gonna have to leave the site, which I really would prefer not doing, it is a great site, and I'm recommending all my friends to start using it ( a few already have).

With that said, I realise if there's nothing that can be done about it, and I will accept that, it's just that I figured I might aswell try and make a thread about it.

Edit: Seems Erik responded while I where writing, will try that, thanks.

Throw Adblock Plus in there and you'll be rockin' and rollin'.
