not bad, what about extra pieces?

SimonSeirup

Maby its fun to you to make, but i dont believe that this will ever become popular at all.

Chess is hard enough, we dont need new variations.

carlos85333

yes there is two kings and two pawns leftover from two sets on each side

No offense, but just because a game "looks cool" doesnt make it a good game. There are plenty of well designed chess variations like Omega Chess.

i made alot of game experiments to move forward theres bound to be a mishap

but i do agree it would not be popular but i do think it would make some eyes roll or heads turn to look at it

The ancient greeks had a game called Zatrikion at around 400-500 BC at the time of Plato, who even mentioned the game in his book, "The Republic". There appears to have been more than one type of board, including larger boards, circular boards and 8x8 boards. They also had different pieces, including what appears to be a crocodile.

I thought about the pieces and decided that maybe the Crocodile could move fowards and backwards 1 square, and left and right like a rook. This lead me to develop another piece, called the Battery, which is able to move left and right one square, and fowards and backwards like a rook.

Another piece of interest is the Assassin, that shares the move pattern of the knight but can move to any square in-between (my invention).

I considered gameplay - perhaps a board could have 15x15 squares with a win being either the capture of the opponents King or to position the King on the center square.

Therefore maybe Key squares could have other functions, such as promotion, teleportation, walls between Rooks or other types of Tower, and also perhaps a square could make a piece untakable.

An extension of the un-takeable idea is to have some pieces that cannot be taken - they would behave as blockers - there would have to be fewer blockers than pawns to make the game playable - perhaps 3.

wow you sound very knowledgeable do you desighn new chess also

the untakeable square sounds good they could remaine in that square for 3 turns unless they would take it to the end of the game

No I don't design new chess, however I would like to eventually complete a good game for larger board sizes :)
