Hah! Bobby was the King of Ill Feelings. A terrible human being, the Shame of Chess.

" The shame of chess " ?

Keep your ill feelings to your self ....hypocrite !

The_Ghostess_Lola

Chess is not a sport P2P....woodja stop it ? Sports require some use of your body....besides using your digits to move your pawn to e4. Or better, take blindfold chess. Can you play real sports w/ a blindfold and zero movement ? Did you know that if you are deaf, dumb (well, not dumb dumb), & blind you can still be a world champion ?

...and I have always kinda liked BF....even tho' he did beach, moan, and complain alot.

Chess is a sport...

"...Chess is a recognized sport of the International Olympic Committee and international chesscompetition is sanctioned by the World ChessFederation (FIDE), which adopted the now-standard Staunton chess set in 1924 for use in all official games."

Bonny-Rotten

it's common to mistake sports for athletics.

bodybuilders spend a lot of time flexing their muscles and chessplayers twitching their buttcheeks.

The_Ghostess_Lola

....I'm about to freak out b4 I know all the facts !

X_PLAYER_J_X

The fact people don't know chess is a sport is surpising to me.

Where has everyone been at. Its the Greatest Sport in life obviously.

Bonny-Rotten

Chessletics may be the future of chess in any case.

After each lap of the 10,000 metres, contestants play blitz.

I'm sorry, what was the only reason Bobby Fischer became world champion ?

pagan_idol

Someone gave him a copy of the moves beforehand so he knew what was coming

AdmiralPicard

Chess is a game of mistakes, simply being forced to move is a blunder. Whoever makes fewer and less important mistakes becomes the champion. So Bobby Fischer was simply the person with fewer mistakes during his prime. That's the reason he was the champion.

Americu

Chess is a game of mistakes ?

PRICELESS.

Poor old GreasyPrawnEater is reduced to stalking after getting blocked, following his adhoms on my homepage. He's like a drunk nattering away with a paper bag over his head :)

Yep. I don't believe you'll find a single game without a mistake. If someone wins means someone overlooked a tactic or an ending, if someone draws it means at least white eventually lost the initiative, so inequivocally chess is a game of mistakes. Whoever does less critical mistakes wins.

Someone should put a noose over his head.

By that logic, all games of pure skill are "games of mistakes"?

Americu

Chess is not a game OF mistakes.

Like every other game in existence, it can be decided by a blunder, mistake, inaccuracy or oversight.

Like every other game, it can be decided by a stroke of luck, brilliance or even bad luck.

Chess is a game that is played by players who will eventually make a mistake that may cost them the game, maybe not.

It is a game of skill, not a game of mistakes.
