Actually it's a bit of an independent line, and black can follow up with c5 or Nf6. In the latter, white has an interesting piece sac that I played in a tournament game against a 2000 in 2015, and got a winning position but lost

It is not that easy to be a french defence player. To be a true French defence player,  we have to first you have to first BECOME a French. I started of by changing my diet to snails exclusively, change my laughter to "HON HON hon" instead of the usual Hahaha. I also built a wall (fuck off Trump. I did it first) to block of my angry marauding neighbour but left the garden undefended because who even crosses vegetations anyway? Finally, I surrender in the face of adversity  and mock others for being uncultured. So as you can see,  being a French defence player isn't as easy as you thought. It takes tons of grit, hard work and determination to become one.  However, I usually resign when my opponent plays the Russian Winter Variation in response to my French defence. Which is kinda racist because why should the white people win all the time?  But I guess that's life.

I'm sorry but it's difficult to respect the opinion of a flagger.

Then why don't you hang yourself?

Everybody, look at this flagger exhibition, from move 26 onwards:

And you dare to talk?

Thanks for posting this, it's very instructive. This was a tough game, don't know how I squeezed  one out the win. Must have been that brilliant queen sacrifice at move 25.

Shameless flagger. Yet, it was a 3 minute game, and it's part of the game.

Just quit talking like a virgin little princess, would you?

But I was just playing quickly because I was experimenting with a new queen sacrifice novelty at move 25. I was playing a less rated player, game I was supposed to win anyway. You on the other hand, purposely disrespected an NM in a much more serious game. I would never flag against a rated player, I have too much respect for chess to do that.

Is that your excuse for keep playing a lost position +20 moves? Are you serious?

Besides, it was my rival who was trying to flag me (for the second time). He just failed, although he succeeded in the first one (lost game, played for the flag). Good for him, that's how 3 min blitz goes. There you get how some titled players behave.

But, +20 moves a Queen down when the rival has +30 seconds in his clock as you did??? Nope, no titled nor self respecting chess player does that. That's even below patzer level. And this whole thread, with your crying because you lost to a French Defense, is pretty much the same: Bad, sore, annoying loser.

As I said before, it was an experimental Queen sacrifice. Therefore, I needed to play out the game to see if it was sound.

Nope, it wasn't, even at your knowledge level you knew that without pieces you had no chance. You kept playing because that's your privilege, but you knew you were completely lost.

That's called flagging.

Only that... you overplayed the thing. That was insulting a chess player over nothing but 3 min online ratings.

Well agree to disagree right? We have both made really good points, and it'll be difficult to come up with a conclusion, so there is nothing else to do.

I say we move the discussion here:

I think it's a bit more complicated than that.

Oh, another one of these clowns. We are now at the centennial anniversary of The Great War, when France (and all the other European powers) lost a generation of young men. If you care to see a great historical series:

Then you can stop saying ridiculous nonsense that you think is funny.

Generally speaking, French Defense players are of above average intelligence and enjoy a comfortable sense of primacy.

You shouldn't complain about being caught off guard by tricks or traps, it's your fault for not seeing through them or being ill prepared. Don't blame others for your laziness. If you prepare for these types of positions beforehand or simply practice recognizing them you'll probably end up enjoying playing those types of games, as often times these traps and tricks pose a risk for the person playing them.

I have come here to revive this thread, and say that I find the French Defence beautiful. Let the argument commence.

Ziryab

Those who play the French Defense have no personality.
