The "millies' hasn't done anything of significance other than overwhelmingly voting for Barack twice and patting themselves on the back for their accomplishments.

Oh jeez, not this shit again.  WWII was won by the Soviets!  Just look at the scale of the war on the eastern front while the USA was dicking around preparing D-day.  A quick glance a the casualties statistics tells the story.  Over 26 million Soviets died during WWII.  Only 418,000 Americans died.

Americans became a superpower only because they were the only ones whose infrastructure wasn't bombed to hell and back.  It had nothing to do with the generation being better than anyone, just the good luck not to be Hitler's neighbor.

It B. Boomers 1946 to 64, then Gen X, then Gen Y (Millenials) and, drum roll please--

[Wiki] Millennials (also known as the Millennial Generation[1] or Generation Y) are the demographic cohort following Generation X. There are no precise dates when the generation starts and ends. Researchers and commentators use birth years ranging from the early 1980s to the early 2000s.

Who fricken cares ??  This thread clearly doesn't.

I guess the "greatest generation" dropped the ball when it came to parenting.

At any rate I don't see how the blame game is going to solve anything. There are enough people sitting around pointing at each other as it is these days.

Who's the generation that has blue hair, and facial skin piecing??             The hoboes caused the beatniks, the beatniks caused the hippies, the hippies caused the druggies, the druggies caused the ??

I was under the impression that the Russians won WW-II in Europe.

Celts? Back around the time of Caesar?

RonaldJosephCote

                   emu;  are you serious??

What silliness.  Only families have generations.  Humanity is a continuous flow of births and deaths, there is no neat dividing line where people fundamentally change every 18 years.

The idea of naming generations is a marketing trick made up by Robert Capa to sell magazines, and you're a bunch of suckers.

hahahahahaaa  that bothered the hell out of my mother--LIKE

Eisenhower, and Patton, and Montgomery, a few Admirals

About the Russians? Of course. 85% of the Wehrmacht's casualties were on the Russian front. Who did you THINK beat the Germans?

About the Celts? Of course not.

Why would he still be in his grave if he were alive?

Well yeah but maybe I'm not following. Russia, Great Britain, and US won the war in Europe.

RonaldJosephCote

100 bonus points for Macer. THAT got by all of us.

The Western Allies certainly beat about 15% of the Germans, yes. No argument there.

RonaldJosephCote

Ok, I know your intelligent. You just threw me a curve ball. The concensus was Germany couldn't handle a 2 front war. So we got our butts kicked at Normady and the Pacific, and well the rest is history LIKE!

blueemu

The Brits won in North Africa, with some American help. The Americans won in the Pacific, almost single-handed. Everybody dog-piled the Germans in Europe... but not until the Russians had already broken their backs on the Eastern front. By the time the Western Allies invaded at Normandy, the Russians had already rolled the Germans back from Stalingrad to the Vistula River. That's a 2,300 km retreat, losing men and equipment every step of the way.
