Yeah, I think they should cancel all those games.
If the site is having server issues, why no announcement by the admins? No facebook or twitter post, no pm anouncement sent. I guess this is not very important enough to notify your members about. Oh well.
I wish there was a toaster-style popup that tells us that the servers are out, like the ones for achievements.

So? That dosen't mean there is no server issue affecting others. I spent 12 years working at a data center. Based on my experience, not everyone will experience issues.

If that is so, that would be really annoying. I was one move away to getting a draw.
12 points gone and 2 hours wasted, 8 mins left on clock and 3 moves from winning. My opponent must be wiping off the sweat that he escaped due to the server failure but its not the way to run a site is it? People are working hard to improve their game, and for what? It's demoralizing.

My post wasn’t meant to be a “so what” reply. I merely stated what my experience has been today. I agree it can be frustrating when games are lost due to any number of problems. Based on your background (12 years in a data center) you would know better than many how there can be various reasons for a server going down. Excessive heat, AC failure, a large influx of users, fire protection system malfunction, intermittent power surge or outage, back-up supply failure, etc., and others. With your background you May have some Valid points of wisdom to offer chess.com. Give it a try. It may just help everyone.
