That's an interesting question! The Super-Kings variant certainly adds an exciting dynamic to the game. Giving the King such powerful mobility changes both the strategic and tactical landscape, especially in the endgame where the King typically plays a supporting role.
As for Fischer vs. Tal in this variant, it would be a fascinating clash of styles. Fischer's precision and deep understanding of chess fundamentals might give him an edge in adapting to new rules, but Tal's creativity and ability to conjure unexpected ideas could shine in a variant where pieces (especially the King) have such dynamic potential.
It’s hard to say who would win outright, but I'd imagine Fischer would be meticulous about exploiting the King’s added power, while Tal might come up with wild sacrificial attacks using the Super-King as an attacking force. What do you think—would Fischer’s logic win out, or would Tal’s magic triumph in this unorthodox chess world?
The Super-Kings chess variant is where the King has all the powers of a queen, and can move and capture exactly like a queen. Outside of that, the same rules of chess still apply. This variant been around in various forms for a long time- some people even play it as the King can move like a queen and a knight. Jose Raul Capablanca was a mega genius at this variant. It is said he could understand any variant easily.
Who do you think would win if Fischer played Tal, as both were amazing at regular chess!
