Well I think we can all accept that that's a pretty good principle, it's not exactly groundbreaking. But giving up implies that you are "giving up" the potential to achieve whatever it was that you set out to achieve. Sometimes that is taken from you and acknowledging it isn't giving up, it's readying yourself to try again. Reminds me of that quote from Batman (:P)
