THE ULTIMATE GUIDE: 2000 + in BULLET without being a good chess player

Dear friends!

First about all I have to tell you that I am really NOT a good chess player. Maybe my rating would be 1500 - 1600 in long chess games. Nevertheless I am a 2000 + player in bullet. I have been over 2200 in the past and have beaten lots of FMs or CMs.

I want to present you the morst imporant rules to consider in bullet chess:

1.) ALWAYS CHECK IN ENDGAMES

This is very important! I nearly always win endgames when everyone has about 10 seconds left. With always checking your opponent loses a lot of time.

When your opponent has only 1-2 seconds left, you MUST check him. It doesn´t matter if you lose your material. Let him take your queen after a check for example. You will still win on time.

2. PUNISH THE PREMOVES IN THE OPENING

This is also very important! After a lot of bullet games I notice very fast when my opponent does premoves. The classic punishment is the following:

1. d4 g6

2. Bh6 Bg7

3. Bxg7!!!

When you are SURE that your opponent is a premover you can use the following:

1. g3 g6

2. Bg2 Bg6

3. Bxb7!!!

Then your opponent will lose his rook if he is premoving.

3. OFFERING DRAW IN A LOST POSITION

This is a nice method to distract your opponent. I played some games where my opponent got nervous and then it was a stalemate.

When your strategy according to point 2 of my guide failed you can also offer a draw and pretend you had a mouse slip. About 5-10 per cent will accept the draw.

I hope that my guide will help you to become a better bullet player and to achieve a higher rating! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me!

Best regards, John Wayne

Bullet sounds a lot less like chess and more like a rush which doesn't work for me.
