Hy,
I don't know, never try that. sorry
Best regards
If you ever wondered why daily is the least popular time format, you now know one of the reasons why. It's not bad enough that vacation exists at all, but the fact that you are granted more vacation time here than any employer on the planet would provide an employee, sort of shows how poorly thought out this was.
Allowing people to be on vacation for one game but playing in others is completely absurd. But don't waste your breath suggesting a common sense solution to the problem. They much prefer irritating all of the honest players instead of enforcing already established rules upon the scumbags who abuse the system.
Must be for paying members.
My gold account gives me 2 months but I think the platinum and diamond are more. I'm not sure if it doesn't accumulate also. I've had players go on vacation in my games, while playing others just like the op is talking about. On the game screen it will tell you how much vacation the person has remaining. I've seen numbers that were astonishing, but I can't recall off the top of my head what the worst ones were. It was a lot.
As someone who both lives on the southern east coast of the US and normally have 20 daily games going on at any one time (mostly 1 day games but 3 day games through tournaments held by my clubs), hurricanes easily knock out the power usually at least once a year, sometimes for 3 days at a time. So when we are within a hurricane warning area I go on vacation in my games (think about it either go on vacation, or run the risk of being timed out for 20 games), sometimes the power does not go out but you never know. Also if I am timed out in a game that I was losing or slightly inferior my opponent could think I am a poor sport and just abandoned the game.

Translating - Thank you for your comment!
I was playing with one player in a one-day game when he suddenly went on a long vacation. But at the same time, he continued to visit the site. One day I just did not go to this site and he took advantage of this - he made a move while I was away, and I lost by time.
You can all see who is playing this silly game with me with the vacation option. Yes, it's allowed but silly in this manner. I was down to 2 games and decided to get 100 games going simultaneously. All 7 day games. I learned a lot from doing this. LOL. I am now down to about 32 games remaining.

I reported the matter. Seems like this is a constant thorn because of the abuse of this benefit.
@pegusu
Thanks for the shout-out, @Stesan60 BUT as u may or may not know, the 10” rapid is the longest game I can tolerate! My fave game is the 3” as I have the attention span of a hyperactive gnat!🤪
Hello all, I have a general question regarding an opponent taking a "vacation" when playing the 3 day game competitions of chess. In this case a "vacation" means he/she can go beyond 3 days. I have one game currently going on where a competitor has taken 3 vacations during our chess game but also is playing games with others on chess.com while avoiding our game. I have asked what is going on. No answer. Is this a normal thing to see happen? As things stand now, my opponent does not have to make a move for up to 3 months.
The only scenario where it's wrong is where your opponent is completely lost and takes a long vacation. I often use vacation to lengthen my thinking time or if I'm busy.
Agreed. So I have a huge advantage in the game. You can see it still in progress with Jmatch. He is playing others and not responding to me at all. So it's reported at this time. The only way for him to win is if I decide to commit suicide in the game which I will not.
So this is one month later. Chess.com has done absolutely nothing. Today I reported him for the 5th time. He continues to play games (today he played 3 games) while he ignores my requests to make a move. @MGleason is trying to help out and so far absolutely no result. He has 8 more weeks before he has to make a move.
Your opponent's game is completely lost, it seems he is just delaying you to be a poor sport. Just wait it out and doing something else. I had a daily opponent do that to me one time, the game took 3 months to end but eventually he lost on time. Apparently he forgot how much vacation time he had left & flagged 16 games in a row. Karma will come some day.
