Well - of course you're going to prefer yours.. I'm making these as a general theme for people that don't want to take the time. What about mine hurts eyes?
I have difficulty reading certain colour combinations. So the dark background doesn't work for me. There are websites that tell you the best colour combinations to use. I like the overall feel though... I just had difficulty with the words.

Funny... I have the exact opposite for me... the dark background is less strain on my eyes (less bright) ... and the bright color lettering makes it easier for me to read.
This shows that you need to look at a wide variation to suit all tastes and preferences.

My favorites on here are ones that are gentle on the eyes, with the main focus on being "unobtrusive" (i.e. not distracting). There are some with lime green text and obnoxious backgrounds that just don't work... makes me wonder what the designers of such backgrounds were thinking when they made them.
Hey, yours is a good start as far as your choice of background is concerned, but the bright blue text is sorta like the lime I mentioned above.
I'm thinking about creating a series of themes.
