Then and Now

I'd like to put in a comment here. I'm a pretty weak player, I'm young and working hard to improve, so I might be decent one day. I've played maybe a half dozen games against titled players and maybe a dozen total against players over 1800. All but one were losses. I cherish each of those memories and I play in tournaments with the attitude of: I'm freaking doomed, but It'll be fun and I can improve. That's all well and good, but some people just go to tournaments to play chess with players of their level, and don't see getting stomped into the ground by higher level players as fun. On the other hand, I live in the northeast. Tournament attendance is hardly a major problem. (Coughworldopencough)
