Had a interesting convo with my cousin awhile back at a wedding…I mentioned chess and soon regretted it. Well supposedly he had a classmate about a c**t hair away from having Down syndrome…held back I think a couple of times, taken out of private sent to a special needs school…had a hard life. Not too smart. I was told to he competes and is a club member. Thought I was being messed with…After searching myself I found his social media profile….his whatever the f*** chess score was close to 1900. It definitely was close to 1900. This was awhile ago too. Unfortunately on his profile he was wearing tucked in alligator shirts , dahmer glasses and was wearing Velcro shoes and from what it looked like, lived with his mommy…😆😂. Sorta sad actually thinking about it…..So idk man…id throttle back the “superior intellect “ vibe your putting off….i think anyone that spends hours upon hours staring at a board game memorizing dozens of openings would eventually get good at this board game. That guy was able to play well…I was told he was semi retarded….so 🤷🏽♂️
They must be cheating if they beat me

So what you are trying to say is that your cousin is semi retarded and you are no match for him? Well, that's embarrassing. And by the way, you don't have to memorize a thing in chess, not on our amateur level. Opening theory is totally over rated and every time someone mentions it, it's usually low rated people giving bad advice to each other on how to improve at the game. It's like single women giving advice to each other on how to get married. In chess, all you need is to follow chess principles, your intuition, have the engine analyse your games for you and then you have a quick look to see what you have missed. No memorizing, just being curious and slowly improving your understanding of the game. And if you like the game, it's fun too

I have received messages from many "chess players" on chess.com accusing me of cheating simply because i beat them handily.
In other words - if you lose very badly and i move really fast - I must be cheating.
Makes perfect sense. I typically tell these "chess players" they should take up checkers as it is more their speed and suits their intellect better.
