Some members "probably in a mental chess program or something" hanging around and working for chess site. What do they do is simply cheating. Just a easy examnle. i play with someone his score is 563 and he plays like 1500, or when my point is 128 i play with someone score 1800 i won, Those are not only 1 matches. Whats the point? :)) Exactly , point :))

He's saying he lost to someone underrated at 500 and then won against someone overrated at 1800 so what is the point of ratings when you have sandbaggers on one end and people who inflate their ratings on the other?  He's saying these aren't isolated games, he's running into it a lot... at least that's the meaning I'm guessing Smile

Big whoop. So's the rest of the world. Enjoy your pleasant life in the Matrix. Sure, taking -(clicking)- the red pill -(X)- gets you out of it, but what's the point of obseesing over reality if the Matrix is so much more fun?

what was the 1800 player you online or OTB is online not really something to bragg about (still good) but people aren't actually playing master level online unless there online rating is 2300-2400 (online) beating someone online at 2000+ is something to be a little  proud of aswell.

At the end of the day people who cheat are just cheating themselves. But some people have a different take on what is cheating. For me it means you don't look at the databases while you are playing a particular opening or indeed move the pieces around on the practice board...There's one player on chess.com with an astronomical chess.com grade who regularly beats me - but whose OTB grade is similiar to mine . I suspect he's using Fritz or something...

Chessoz, I assume that player who had a 500 rating probably times out on a lot of games. As for your highly rated fellow, he probably got to his rating while playing players with 500 rating.

to MrNimzoIndian you make it sound like cheating to use the analysis board the site rules allow it in turnbased but not in live chess.

I think you can add extra rating to a player being able to see or guess 10-15 moves ahead on the analysis board. In real life I think I can only see 3-4.

but everybody play by the same rules.

Cheating is any behavior prohibited by the rules. There's no such thing as a different take on cheating.

In online chess, the rules allow for databases and use of the analysis board. These things are not cheating. That's pretty cut and dry.
