I literally just also sometimes stay unfocused in school and loose. For me it's because I'm tired.
THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! 67 GAMES!?!
I mostly agree with you. But I recently talked with a chess coach in person, and he gave me a cool advice and that seems to be magically working.
He said that it doesn't matter if you are a chalant person and mess up due to your emotions. Its also totally fine if you can't "control" your emotions. However, there is an option that many of us overlook and it is channeling your emotions. And believe it or not, it actually worked! Whenever I'm angry for whatever reason, I start playing chess and quite often, I absolutely obliterate my opponents. I don't know why it works, how it works but it works! I'm not complaining!
PS;- It’s worth mentioning that this also has the added benefit of helping you vent negative emotions. As someone who has to juggle a stressful student life alongside a stressful business, this advice has worked wonders for me.
???????
After 2 months you have finally written this brilliant comment
This looks more like an atrocious blunder than a brilliant, but I get your point
Man you gotta stop spamming 67 in big '26... It's not cool anymore. It's a thing of the past.
Hey friends,
I could really use some advice. I often find myself in good and sometimes in even winning positions against players rated 100–150 points higher than me, but then I completely fall apart and lose. I definitely have a terrible nerves issue.
People have suggested using focus mode on chess.com but I feel like that only helps temporarily. I want to actually learn how to control my mind, not just eliminate external factors. This very much needed as I obviously can't use focus mode in an OTB tournament...
Has anyone else struggled with this? How did you learn to stay calm and composed during critical moments? Any tips or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated... :-)
