Playing chess at work? LOL! I'm posting at work. The decline of our civilization will be related to Internet access at work. A plane will crash somewhere because an air traffic controller was playing blitz at work.
This site has a bunch of members that don't rematch.
Maybe there should be a button/option that says "automatic rematch" that both players would have to click on before the game starts. If you click on it and your opponent does not, then abort the game before the first move is played.
How would that work if the decision to rematch comes solely from the outcome of the first game? Deciding on a rematch before a first game starts is like having to decide on dessert before you eat dinner. What happens if the dinner is terrible or you have to leave early for something else more important?

I remember 20 years ago as I was playing many blitz games on FICS against this guy, an American living in the Philippines, who was always at work when we played, thinking, " Who's doing the working?"
Once I was about to get squashed by a bus whose driver was texting. I'm pretty sure, if he ever has an accident he won't have to worry about a possible brain damage.

Since 2014 air traffic controller applicants got 10 extra test points if they did not hold a job in 2 years and in school they were better at sports than math or science in US.
I don't feel guilty about goofing off at work. I have clients (incarcerated, delinquent youth), and, when they are not available for mental health treatment and all my paperwork is done, I have idle time. Sometimes, during their free time, I will play and teach chess to kids, most of whom are raw beginners. One of the most talented youth I ever worked with was a violent gang member who picked up more complicated things like the Yugoslav Attack very quickly. I usually start out teaching them basic checkmates and king and pawn versus pawn endgames.

Outsourced to his local neighbor
This site should have an algorithm where when someone whines about not being granted rematches that they are automuted. No one is obliged to feed your bruised ego.
--- That is a plus 10 post lol.
--- Lmao .
I just don't care to play the same person more then once. The more people I play the more variety the more fun it is
i make rematch
If there's an "x" to decline the rematch offer then I don't see why your opponent absolutely has to accept.
With a mandatory rematch or lose 8 points, my rating would be 850 unless I stop playing at work. So how is that fair to my now 850 opponents who are overmatched?
