I go for 7 th July
This Site Will Soon Have 8 Million Members
Thanks for the post WIJA.
Today the number was 7.003 million, yes each day the total moves forward ( yesterday being the 7 million Day ).
I suppose that from time to time the naysayers will visit this thread and so I will quote from one of my earlier threads: If we cast our mind back to the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt we find that while the early Pharaohs were preparing to build the first Pyramids the naysayers were saying " Oh Great Pharaoh the stones are much too large to move, the stones will never stay in place, the whole structure will collapse " ( etc etc ). And yet the Pyramids Still Stand !!! ( naysayers tend to forget these things ).
It would seem that the naysayers are now here ? However to be brief, I had a thread on the go prior to the 7 million mark being reached and also one prior to the 6 million mark ( both threads were of course visited by naysayers ). Indeed the 6 million thread was started in answer to to a thread that had been started by another naysayer. In using the example of the Pyramids I was just wondering how anything at all has been achieved on this Planet ? ( alas the naysayers are everwhere ).
No indeed you can say whatever you like ( within the rules of the site of course ). In the previous two threads that I've had going on the numbers there have been some interesting discussions and there may be more to come.
Well I do like to pick on the naysayers as they are a lot of fun. One number that I like to watch is the Total that shows up when I come to the welcome screen. Each day this number goes up by a couple of thousand, but does not increase by any huge amounts at one time. However as the weeks go by the Total increases at a steady pace.
PS: It is not like there are any big spikes in the numbers, but steady progress with members joining from many countries.
Thanks for the new posts.
FederalStreet_1985: Oh hey that was no problem. Mind you one fellow here once accused me of being a " Conspiracy Theorist Troll " so I guess that I do upset some people for time to time.

A lot of those are probably people holding multiple accounts or rarely or never play. So how salient is that number?
TheBigDecline: Yes so I've heard. They are also responsible for Stonehenge, Easter Island ( statues ) and Machu Pichu. Busy little green fellows I would say.

Well, I wasn't entirely serious with my previous comment about how the aliens built the pyramids (duh!), but I do believe in the existence of extraterrestial lifeforms and it's likely they visited us in the past. If they're millions of years ahead of us in terms of technology and cultural maturity, then I don't see a reason to disbelieve all the people, who claim they saw flying saucers or had any other sort of contact with them.
But they'd be Gods to us, and if they decide so, they'll be hidden from us forever.

There is another school of thought that holds that while life may exist on other suitable planets, the chances are tiny of them having evolved into intelligent life capable of civilization and industrialization and even smaller yet that these beings would be more scientifically advanced than modern humans.
Not saying its impossible, just less likely than not.

It happened with us, too, right? But considering the time span it took evolution to make all the steps from microorganism to a sapient human being and compare that time with the age of our home galaxy (really the only place where we'll ever have chances to find some aliens at all, because other galaxies are too far away), maybe we're one of the oldest races out there and other Earth-like planets still need some time to form intelligent beings (if the conditions are fortunate enough). Or they blew themselves up, once they crossed a certain technological threshold... or starved to death because they became too many. It would be awesome to know more, but one can only speculate about the reasons for their apparent abscence.

Yes, and not just have "intelligent beings," but have these beings imbued with the desire to invent, travel, etc, and then give them enough time to build spaceships and rockets, which is not a given because who knows what other "intelligent" beings may prioritise in life or how they think? For all we know there may be ancient super-intelligent extraterrestrials that just sit at home all day and watch tv and never even considered space travel.

LOL...there is evidence that "we" exists no? So why the doubt that there are no other "intelligent" life out there? Nothing that has happened on this planet cannot be duplicated elsewhere. And I'm sure there are both more advanced and less advanced beings than us out there.
On topic- 8 million accounts, about 1 million active, about 100 accounts being closed each month for cheating (by my last calculation). I would say the average active accounts will yield a better number as to "how many members are really here. There seem to be a great number of "ghost voters" who should not really be counted...of course, it is good for marketing.
Yes the 7 million mark has been passed and I was way off with my guess ( again ). I am now going to guess that July 1st will be the day that the 8 million Member Account total is reached. Good Luck to those people who will be leaving guesses here for the Big Date !
