and he showed me the game it was hilarious xD
Those who play unorthodox openings, why do you play them?

im pretty sure that wouldnt be how anyone described it in their right minds
what does that mean

lol my old coach had a funny story about the spike, what he called 1.b4
jsyk the spike is 1.g4

Whenever I play a normal opening, I get a crushing advantage in the opening and early middlegame. Because the positions are critical and I'm terrible at calculation I end up giving up my advantage and getting into a losing or drawn endgame.
It's much easier to play f6 kf7 and grind my way up, since I will only gain the slight advantage in the late middlegame or endgame. I do not have enough time to blunder that way and my winrate therefore gets higher.

As orthodox christians... we play only orthodox openings.
Tradition rules.
I'd like to imagine that about one hundred and fifty years ago, Fyodor Dostoyevsky had the same thought

hitler played chess, and he always played sound openings like the english or d4, or the indian game as black
hmmmm

I like throwing out the wayward queen against titled players, i think most people try every opening under the sun against them, I try to throw them a curve ;-) I also have no problem taking their kings bishop pawn forcing their king to take at the start of the game, go down fighting or farting, I know which I prefer.
