Thoughts on Daily Chess

Hi . Ive played quite a lot of Daily games , and i just have a question for the chess community happy.png  I know in Daily chess, its probably very hard to catch cheaters (engine users) considering all the material allowed to use in Daily games . But im just wondering what percentage of "best , Good" moves and blunders , mistakes etc would you say is normal for a Daily game , lets say between 1400 and 2000 rating ? and the game lasting 30 - 40 moves ?  Thnx in advance for your replies happy.png

There really is no way we can give anything like a reasonable answer to that question. And even worse, in any particular game a person might legitimately way out-perform their norm. I have had a game (not online) where I got as high as 80% best move, which is way over my norm.

And without discussing specifics, which would get this thread locked in a hurry, for various reasons Daily games are particularly easy to cheat without getting caught.

Personally, I consider any rating for Daily games to be highly suspect. I think they tell you very very little about the underlying strength of the player. That is both because of the possibility for cheating, and because how seriously a player takes a particular game can vary immensely. If they normally play 100 games at once, but decide to take your game seriously...

I think they are a great training tool whether or not the opponent cheats for all or part of the game. But I wouldn't take the ratings very seriously at all.

Yes i Agree madratter7 . I guess i should start treating daily Chess as a mean to Learn and analyse deeper , instead of worrying about What my opponents use for assistance during The game ;) :) thnx for The Reply :)

Well, for example, I am very underrated. My true playing strength is at about 1500 for daily I would say. With my highest being 1700. But I am only almost 1300...after playing too many games, getting confused, and blundering. Check my recent daily games and you will see that I have a high level of accuracy.
