I am very confused about how tie-points work as the explainasion i recieved was not very clear.

If i have a win over a player rated higher than me does this give my more tie-points?

If you are asking about Chess.com's tie-breaks, no, rating of opponents doesn't matter. The only things that matter are the scores of your opponents.
