How does one get tie points in a chess tournament ? l mean like how do you get awarded points in case of a tie? And how much points does a player get awarded for the different types of win? Such as, a win by checkmate, a win by resignation, win by time and or a stalemate? If anyone can help me that'd be great. I just want to learn how its awarded. Thanks.

It doesn't matter how you win a game, a win is worth 1 point. All draws, including stalemate, are 1/2 a point.
