Why should you care? You're not even going to notice the game until it's your move, surely?
time to move in online chess

Why can a player choose up to 13 days to move? This is too long. Some players are really annoying when they know they will lose, they do not make their moves for the longest possible time. I don't mind taking 2-3 days to move, but moving every 13 days for the last 3 moves before checkmate is just annoying.
Just as they can choose to take their entire time allotment, you can choose not to play games with these longer time limits.

1. Don't play games with such time setup
2. If one of your current games made you start this thread, you can turn on the auto-pilot(conditional moves) and safely land it.

OK, I realise that I am complaining, but if I know that I will definitely lose a game, I resign from that game. I would have thought that this was the courteous thing to do. @Dragec, that game is about to finish, I shall follow your advise.

Patch the fact you resign simply means you have good sportsmanship but others play pure for ratings and they will sometimes stall a game they defo gonna loose. I hope you won´t change.

I've played players before that will make ten moves or so a day only to drop off the face of the earth when they are in a bad situation and make one move per day or one per three days. It's happened a few times now and makes me wonder if it's now a delaying tactic which is used to hope that the winning player just gives up and doesn't check or hopes the winning player will make a mistake in waiting so long.
It's been almost a year since I came back here to play chess and I am seeing this from random players. Could just be me; but I have noticed that on occassion.
Cheers!

This sounds reasonable and expected behaviour. I can generally knock out moves in a few seconds, but in a sticky situation, I will take a few days.
