Tips for beginners?

I’m a total beginner, I’ve played with my dad a few times but I want to get better. Does anyone have any tips for me and any others beginners out there?
Play longer time games(10m,15/10 etc) and learn from your mistakes.Also learn 1 opening with white and 1 with black and master it.It you want we can play some games whenever you can.
