Me too, Im stuck in 1100 but like 5 months ago I was 1300 xd.

I recommend to u to see lessons and study openings and tactics cuz that will help u to improve with the level that you have. It worked for me, so thats my recommendation for you grin.png

I too am stuck, in the 1600s.

I mainly got past your rating range by doing large quantities of tactics (roughly 50) every day.

I also watched instructional content from Hanging Pawns, Saint Louis Chess Club, Gothamchess, and Daniel Naroditsky.

This got me into the 1600s relatively quickly, so perhaps the same will work for you?

Good luck! :)

Get a good book and study. Realize that 95% of youtube and twitch chess is just entertainment and not going to help much.

You have a great point. I too am working on checking out a book for chess.

Get good.

Seriously. Your rating tracks your playing strength, not the other way around. If you want to increase your rating, you must increase your playing strength.

Play slow games to improve. Play fast games for fun, and to test your increasing knowledge.

Focus on tactics, model mating patterns, endgames and basic opening principles. Leave the fancy opening theory to the 2200+ players.

The only thing that I would add is to play slow time controls like 30+ minutes per side so you can truly dive in into every position, analyze, and learn from it. My guess is that the majority of people asking how to improve never play slow time controls because soon they would find out just how little they know and how much work they need to do. I recall playing USCF rated events with games lasting upwards of 5 hours and spending as much as 20 minutes on a single move.
