First of all, congratulations on this amazing milestone! You’re already better at chess than the global average: https://youtu.be/8FWEn2yIiFE?si=khoziJxv9WoD3SxT
I’d be careful about setting goals of rating so far into the future though. People typically set rating goals of 100 or maybe 200 points at a time. Going from 1000 to 1500 is a massive 500 point gap. You could potentially do it, but rating becomes much tougher to gain the higher up you get. Your amazing climb over 1000 in 3 months is likely in part because of your rating stabilizing to your true rating. Eventually it will plateau and then gaining rating will be much tougher to do. The danger of setting huge rating goals is having no accurate idea of how good a particular rating (like 1500) is and how much effort it takes to reach that goal.
That being said, I reached 1500 rating is about a year and what helped me around 1400 to 1500 was mostly really honing in on the endgame. I studied and practiced a lot of theoretical endgames. There’s some common checkmates worth learning as well as some endings which you should be able to convert into a win pretty much every time. It was a big confidence boost to me that I had some direction to what I wanted to steer the middlegame towards.
Endgames may or may not be what you need. You’ll have to examine your own strengths and weaknesses. Endgames were actually a strength of mine and I decided to try and focus on my strength, but each person is different. If you do take the same endgame route, then you probably already know the core basics like queen checkmate, or rook checkmate (you did cross 1000 after all), but you may possibly need to look at some tougher ones on the road to 1500. Some examples are Q vs B or Q vs N: https://youtu.be/E4NhQt5nRpk?si=RTblmEW0gq7-q1Vb or possibly winning with a single pawn via king opposition. https://youtu.be/orCBaFAyqSs?si=7Fbm1JUZrFEf4Q13
That last one is by far the most important if you don’t know it super well already. Best of luck and feel free to ask me any specifics if you ever have questions :)
I have been playing chess for 86 days or just under 3 months now and I just hit 1000 elo and I want to to take the next step and hit 1500 and I would appreciate any tips to help me improve.
