Too many people on this site want to run before learning to walk

If your live blitz rating is below 2000, maybe you should practice taking hanging pieces and not hanging pieces rather than trying to study tactics and positional play.

I think you have a point.

I don't care about being good at chess, it's for fun. And blitz is fun for me even though I'm bad.

Why do you keep making posts criticizing beginners?

True words and this is like with so many other things, chess is no exception here. Starting out the eyes are wide looking towards the stars until determining the own limits.

Even IM, FM, CM, uscf expert and NM have low blitz rating, doesn't make  them weak. I trust otb rating over any online rating; I see GM with extremely low online daily rating but I know they are GMs. I know this very strong senior master ( 2400 uscf) who beat GMs onlitz blitz but most the time he get crush by GMs. Online rating don't matter. I remember this fide player 1800  laughing at my pathetic blitz rating until I challenge him and he barely draw me, even though his blitz rating was much higher than mine.

Isn't there another thread exactly the same as this from a few months ago? Same wording and everything?

You shouldn't study tactics below 2000? 2/10 trolling job, made me reply.

The answer is of course, that blitz tests plenty of skills that are not very useful in slow/classical games.

In blitz, taking even an extra few seconds to see the hanging pieces in the position may cost you many games, through time taken.

In a slow game, you need to be able to calculate more deeply and precisely, and have stronger evaluation skills - taking a few extra seconds for basic safety checks means nothing here.
