Too Old to Become a Grandmaster

Hello,

I have known how to play Chess since I was 6. I want to know, if I become serious about chess now, at age 14, do I have a good chance of becoming a Grandmaster, or am I starting too late?

BTW, I do math competitons, which are a lot like puzzles.

Thank you!

Howard Staunton didn't start taking chess seriously until he was 26. Of course, the world chess scene is different nowadays.

In more recent times, Ciocaltea earned his GM title (via the usual three-GM-norms process) at age 46.

I wouldn't say that you had a GOOD chance, though... but a chance, yes.
