On another note: Why do people assume that the better a person is at something the more they enjoy it? For example, the reason Fischer, Morphy and some others gave up chess is because they just didn't like it anymore. Meanwhile there are others who are terrible but can't get enough of it.
There's no direct reason why a person who is better should like it more. If that were the case Kasparov would never stop playing while people who are below 2000 would never get obsessed. Of course a person who doesn't like something or are passionate about it they usually won't be interested in it enough to reach a very high level.

I asked you what the point of chess is if not improvement. I don't believe I ever asked you whether talent and hours spent were somehow correlated.
I noticed that you have a fairly high live rating. This tells me that you've not only studied, but probably studied quite hard. Obviously I can only assume that this is the case - you might simply have been born with a massive talent mass for chess. Ockhams razor suggests otherwise, none the less.
Now the question remains; if you've only played for pure enjoyment, why did you study? Was studying in itself unpleasant?
Hopefully this will get some point across. I'm not trying to tell you that you're wrong about anything as much as I'm suggesting that there is a metaframe as well as a frame. Improvement doesn't kill enjoyment (call me crazy, but to me the studying part is a lot of fun - putting ideas into practice, also brings a smile to my face). And vice versa for that matter.

I also play to enjoy, but I also had beat IM , CM, and NM. Now I not active playing chess, just play through internet (because I'm very busy with my work). You can play with internet if you very busy.
And it's not "completely incorrect" at all. Fischer said: "I HATE CHESS" many times, numerous chess players gave up presumably because they didn't enjoy it so much anymore for example Morphy. Others stick at it year after year even though they're getting worse, eg. Korchnoi.
I'd be interested to know when Fischer said "I hate chess", I haven't read that before.
It's thought that Morphy gave up chess because it wasn't a serious occupation in those days, chess players were looked down upon almost, and so he went into Law. But you may have a point that he didn't enjoy it anymore, or at least didn't enjoy playing against the opposition that was available.

You know uhoh, I would listen to you, have you tell me what's what, but you spout so much trash that I couldn't do it to myself. And when someone disagrees with you, no matter how minor or opionated the disagreement, you let loose the insults and expletives and launch at their throat with rabid abandon. Ocassionally you do chime in with useful contributions, it's just a pity you seem to throw away all the credibilty/respect gained almost immediately. Grow up
