David had a point. Why keep repeating these threads. If you want to know the answer just review already existing ones. Like this random one I found.

I explained my complaint about the lock in this thread:

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/community/locking-this-thread---seriously-mods

I don't so much have an issue with locking that one thread in particular - I had no desire to comment on it - but rather with the approach to moderation that the lock appears to indicate. As for whether mods should lock threads on topics that have been discussed frequently in the past, I would like to note 2 things:

1. If they do, it would be a major departure from the policy that mods have followed in the past, and

2. The new policy would be impossible to implement on a consistent basis. The chess.com forums have existed for nearly 10 years, and in that time bascially any chess-related topic (or at least many of the more popular ones) that one could think of has been brought up. With the vast number of threads created each day, how would the mods go about locking all of them that repeat a previous topic?

lol... I just realized that this thread actually predates mine by 4 minutes. I initially thought it was inspired by my thread... but apparently I was wrong.
