True. Thorough study of the games is necessary before one barks off commenting.

Topalov had a clearly lost position when he won on time, but he went on to play well in the rest of the tournament. If he continues playing as well, he could have a shot at becoming challenger.

Winning the world championship is another matter. Topalov has been close before, though.

It really grinds my gears when people spell these guys names incorrectly.  It's spelled Vesilen Topolav.  When pronouncing it the emphesis is on the "O".

So close it's almost like he was the FIDE WC in 2005.

He WAS the FIDE WC, which is close to being the true WC. But, it is not the same thing.
