One game, that is decisive for the outcome of one group, is a long game where the players use their time. Long games takes time in daily even in non vacation mode. You cannot prevet this. When the last game is over the next round will begin - so just be patient!
In your next tournament you can reduce the time for each move even further (from 2 to 1 day) and/or you can limit the amount of late decisive games by having less people to advance from round to round.
If this really bothers you, you can make a turnaments with only on group and one round. Then you only have to wait for the final result, but will not have to wait for your next games.

I set up this fun tournament in May. I have not played in it for 5 weeks.
Can anyone help explain why this has occurred and how I can avoid it next time I set up a tournament.
